This is also on the toasty side but stops short of dominating the spicy display of plum, violet, red cherry and Asian-style tea aromas. The toast also transfers to the super sleek, even satin-textured medium-bodied flavors that brim with sappy dry extract that helps to buffer the moderately firm tannins shaping the complex and highly energetic finish. This is a bit woodier than I prefer but there is no doubting the excellent underlying quality. -AM
